About DHARMA
DHARMA - the Directory of Historically-Acquired Risk Management Assets - began its life in 2009 as a digital "turnover binder." A time-honored military tradition is to curate a binder full of forms, templates, work instructions, reference materials, and other valuable documentation. When one individual prepares to transfer out of a particular billet, the "turnover binder" allows the individual who's tasked with relieving them to get up to speed on their new duties on an abbreviated schedule. In 2009, I began to prepare a digital "turnover CD" for whomever would eventually relieve me as the "Technical Writer" / network certification coordinator on USJFCOM J9's Information Assurance team.
DHARMA grew in 2011, while I was supporting JPO-MRAP in Kuwait. At that time, I assembled a similar CD-ROM with web-based menus with the purpose of consolidating and disseminating Anti-Terrorism / Force Protection resources. Eventually, informed in large part by the former Risk Management Coordinator program that the USJFCOM J9 Risk Management Team initiated shortly prior to my arrival, I consolidated the information security resources acquired at J9 with the AT/FP resources acquired before and during my tenure with JPO-MRAP, and continued to add additional items relating to various functional areas of security risk management.
DHARMA compliments the resource repository of the main JTS, Ltd. section, and features resources pertaining to the following functional areas:
Anti-Terrorism / Force Protection (AT/FP);
Counter-Intelligence;
Foreign Disclosure / Export Control;
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA);
Industrial Security;
Information Assurance / Network Security;
Noncombatant Evacuation Operations (NEO);
Open Source Intelligence (OSINT);
Operational Security (OPSEC);
Personnel Security;
Physical Security; and
Travel Security.
As with the other sections of HARDAC, this section is likely to expand in scope as I have time.
